Hello! My Name is Mrs. Cortnea Schuster and I am the Guidance Counselor at the Kentucky School for the Blind. This begins my 18th year in education, but my first full year at KSB! Since I began here in February, I have truly enjoyed getting to know the students and help them in any way I can. I look forward to the 2017-2018 school year as we “break new ground”, and I know it is going to be great!
I graduated from the University of Kentucky in 1998 with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology. I then attended Spalding University and received my Master’s in Teaching, Learning and Behavior Disorders in 2002. In 2006 I completed my Master’s in Education- School Counseling, through Indiana University Southeast. This summer I started working toward my certification to become a Teacher of the Visually Impaired through UK and I can’t wait to use all the information that I’ve learned regarding visual impairments.
