Little NCs Junior Varsity Competition - Cancelled

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Little NCs Junior Varsity Competition scheduled for Thursday March 12 has been cancelled.  Families of Junior Varsity athletes will be notified about an Alternate Event for our Student Athletes that afternoon.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.

Join the KSB Athletic Department in welcoming the Indiana School for the Blind and Visually Impaired and The Ohio State School for the Blind to KSB for the annual Little NC's Junior Varsity Competition. Athletes in grades K-6 will compete in events in Goalball, Wrestling and Cheerleading. Competition starts at 10 am (EST).

2020 NCASB Varsity Cheerleading Conference

January 23-25, 2020 (Little Rock, Arkansas) - The KSB Varsity Cheerleading team competed in the NCASB Conference Tournament this weekend at Arkansas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. We are so proud of our student athletes. They worked extremely hard and represented KSB well.

The Varsity Cheer team took home 2nd place this year! Senior Addison Evers was crowned the 2020 NCASB Outstanding Cheerleader, and 7th grader Peyton Peskoe won 2nd Place in the the 2020 NCASB Outstanding Mascot. Congratulations to our Wildcat Student Athletes on a great season!

2020 NCASB Varsity Wrestling Conference

January 23-25, 2020 (Little Rock, Arkansas) - The KSB Varsity Wrestling team competed in the NCASB Conference Tournament this weekend at Arkansas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. We are so proud of our student athletes. They worked extremely hard and represented KSB well.

Eighth grader Hayden Ashley placed 5th in the 106lb weight class. Seventh grader Landon Smith placed 1st in the 85lb weight class. Landon is the first ever NCASB Conference Championship in the 85lb weight class. Congratulations to our Wildcat Student Athletes on a great season!

2019 NCASB Goalball Conference

St. Louis, MO (November 1-3, 2019) - The Kentucky School for the Blind Varsity Goalball teams competed in the 2019 NCASB Conference Goalball Tournament this past weekend at Missouri School for the Blind in St. Louis, Missouri.  Ten KSB Varsity athletes represented the Wildcats in goalball competition on Friday evening and Saturday morning and afternoon. Girls Goalball team placed 4th in Conference play.  Boys Varsity Goalball team placed 3rd in conference play.  Individual game results were as follows:

Kentucky Goalball Invitational (October 23, 2019)

Louisville, KY (October 23, 2019) -  The Kentucky School for the Blind Varsity Goalball teams hosted Tennessee School for the Blind Goalball on Wednesday, October 23, 2019.   Eleven KSB Varsity athletes represented the Wildcats in Goalball competition Wednesday afternoon.  Boys and Girls Varsity swept Tennessee winning two games each.   Individual game results are as follows:

We are extremely excited for the start of this year’s Goalball season.  Our student athletes have been working extremely hard the last several weeks and are prepared to show their skills at the Tennessee Goalball Invitational. Below is the agenda for the weekend.  

Important Need to Knows for this weekend

  • Day students will need to be picked up from KSB by 1:00 PM on Sunday.   Parents/Guardians will be notified by coaching staff if there is a delay in the return time.
  • All student athletes must stay with team until the end of the Goalball events on Saturday.  Student athletes may not leave campus during the Goalball matches on Friday or Saturday, as noted in the Student Athlete Guidelines.
    • If you plan to take your child at the end of the competition on Saturday, please notify Jessica Belcher by Thursday evening.
  • Student Athletes will need the following items this weekend:
    • Pillow
    • Items needed for showering and hygiene
    • Change of clothes for Friday and Saturday
    • Something to sleep in
  • Linen bags will be provided.  These include the following items:  blanket, sheet, pillow case, towel.
  • Please note:  Due to student allergies, any food or drink item with nuts is strictly prohibited this weekend.

9/26/19: KSB Wildcat Athletics host first Wildcat IGNITE

Tonight, the KSB Wildcat Athletic Department hosted the first Wildcat IGNITE. KSB Students, Staff, Alumni, and Families gathered to tailgate and celebrate the Boys and Girls Varsity Track teams as they head to Indianapolis, Indiana this weekend to compete in the 2019 NCASB Track and Field Conference Championships.

Thank you to all of those that came out in support of our Student Athletes! Shot out to KSB PSSO, Staff, and Alumni for providing lots of goodies for our kiddos to eat!

9/15/19 - KSB Varsity Track Teams Compete at TSB Track and Field Invitational

Nashville, TN (September 13-15, 2019) - The KSB Boys and Girls Varsity Track teams competed at the Tennessee School for the Blind Track and Field Invitational meet this past weekend in Nashville, Tennessee.  Twelve KSB Varsity athletes represented the Wildcats in various track and field events on Friday evening and Saturday morning.  Both boys and girls varsity teams placed 4th overall. Individual results were as follows:

  • Hayden Ashley: 4th place Boys Class A Triple Jump, 6th place Boys Class A Other
  • Kaylee Colgate: 2nd place Girls Class B Long Jump
  • Mari Durrett: 5th place Girls Class A Long Jump, 4th place Girls Class A Other
  • Brock Fannin: 9th place Boys Class C Long Jump, 9th place Boys Class B Other
  • Lex Ferguson:  4th place Boys Class C Long Jump, 2nd place Boys Class C Triple Jump
  • Peyton Peskoe: 8th place Boys Class C 800 yd dash, 15th place Boys Class C Long Jump
  • Colten Peters: 8th place Boys Class C Long Jump
  • Nick Runyon: 1st place Boys Class B Long Jump, 3rd place Boys Class B Other
  • Gracie Smith: 1st place in Girls Class C 1600 yd dash, 2nd place Girls Class C Long Jump
  • Landon Smith: 2nd place Boys Class C 2x800 yd Relay, 10th place Boys Class C Long Jump, 7th place Boys Class C Triple Jump
  • Sophia Thompson: 1st place Girls Class C 800 yd dash, 3rd place Girls Class C Long Jump

We are extremely proud of our Wildcat Athletes and all their hard work!

 

Varsity Goalball 2019

Goalball practice will begin Monday, September 9, 2019.   Any students grades 7-12 interested in Goalball can sign up with coaches Bo Mullins, Kyrstin Price or Dan Frey.   Boys and Girls will practice on Monday from 6:30 to 7:30 through September 20, 2019.   Starting Monday September 30, Goalball will begin practice 3 days per week.  

Students will need a current KHSAA physical and parent permission on file with Athletic Director, Jessica Belcher.  Student athletes will also need a completed medical form and signed Student Athlete guidelines to travel to any tournament.
